What are tattoo removal products?

Tattoo removal product is topical ointments applied on the skin repeatedly to fade away the tattoo partially or completely. Tattoo removal products are usually available in the form of creams which are applied on the skin in the hope of erasing the ink on tattooed skin. The main reason behind the popularity of the tattoo removal product is that it has minimum side effects and economical solution for tattoo removal yet as efficient as any other tattoo removal method. Tattoo removal products are conveniently available both at local pharmacy stores and online stores and easy to use. You do not need any prescription from a doctor to purchase these products.

How does tattoo removal product work?

There are numerous brands of tattoo removal creams available in the market, but the working mechanism of most creams is similar. Usually, there are two kinds of tattoo removal products. One is TCA based tattoo removal products, and other is hydroquinone based tattoo removal products.

TCA based tattoo removal creams target the skin and work by burning or peeling away the layers of the epidermis in an apparent effort to get rid of the tattoo ink stuck below the epidermis. The main active ingredient in TCA based cream is trichloroacetic acid. TCA based cream peels the top layers of the skin and allows the body to regrow new skin to replace the tattooed skin. As these creams work by peeling or shedding of your skin, there are some painful side effects associated with these creams.

Hydroquinone based best tattoo removal cream act as a lightening agent and work by bleaching the skin instead of removing it. It is a relatively safer procedure than TCA based tattoo removal creams. Hydroquinone reduces the production of melanin in the tattooed skin which results in the lightening of the skin pigmentation and leads to the fading of the tattoo partially or completely. Hydroquinone is quite effective in fading skin pigmentation and used by the dermatologist to treat epidermal melasma (a skin disease).
